Davis leads Bison in rout of Badgers

Beachwood’s boys’ basketball team started fast at Berkshire on Friday and never looked back as the Bison steamrolled the Badgers, 70-48.

Led by John Davis III, who scored a game and season high 30 points, the Bison jumped out to a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and led 34-26 at halftime.

A 20-12 third quarter put the game away for the Bison, who improved to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division.

Ronald Jones and Julio Stevens also scored in double figures for Beachwood, with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Trey “Sterling” Sanders contributed with 8 points, Al Holdge scored 6 and Devin Moore scored 3 to round out Beachwood’s scoring.

The Bison defense was equally impressive, holding Berkshire’s Tim Ludlow to just 14 points. He entered the game leading the CVC in scoring with over 24 points per game.

Beachwood returns to action on Saturday when the Bison travel to Lakewood to play St. Edward, ranked second in The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Top 25.
