Beachwood swept the season series from Hawken with a pair of wins on Thursday. The Bison won 8-7 in 11 innings in a game that started on Wednesday then pulled out a 6-5 victory in the second game. Beachwood shrugged off a slow first half that left the Bison down a point to beat previously undefeated Pymatuning Valley, 41-29, in a Division III regional semifinal at Cuyahoga Falls. Beachwood seniors Sam Gross and Ryan Harris closed out their high school careers by winning their second state championship and placed at state for the fourth straight year. Gross won his other title in 2012 and placed third in 2011 and 2013. Harris won his first title last season and placed seventh in 2011 and third in 2012. Full Story
