Led by district champion Maya Gaines-Smith, Beachwood qualified three individuals and two relay teams to the Division II Austintown Fitch Regional Track Meet. Gaines-Smith won the 200-meter dash and Hannah Kahn was second in the 100 and Chinea Lowe was runner-up in the discus throw. The Bison also qualified its girls’ 4x200 and 4x400-meter relay teams. Finalists after Thursday’s meet will race again on Saturday to qualify for regionals. Most of the first-day events were preliminaries while the 4x800 and several field events were finals.
