Following their impressive performance in winning the Chagrin Valley Conference tennis tournament and a share of the league crown, Beachwood’s boy’s tennis team earned Bison Athlete of the Week honors.

Seniors Esme Eppell and Rachel Komich are among the team and statistical leaders of Beachwood’s girls’ lacrosse team. The two share Beachwood’s Bison Athlete of the Week honors.

Beachwood senior Todd Goldberg was named Beachwood’s Bison Athlete of the Week. Goldberg threw seven shutout innings last week with 8 strike outs against state runner-up Cuyahoga Heights. He also had a double and 2 RBI in Beachwood’s 4-0 win against the Redskins.

Junior Karan Gill opened the 2013 tennis season with three straight wins at No. 1 singles to lead the Bison to a 3-0 start. For his efforts, Gill was named Bison Athlete of the Week.

A seventh place finish in the state indoor track meet on Saturday earned Beachwood sophomore Emilykate Hopson-Boyd Bison Athlete of the Week honors. Hopson-Boyd entered the meet as the 16th and final seed in the 800-meter run but knocked five seconds from her qualifying time to end up on the podium.

Beachwood senior Jordan Richardson helped lead the Bison to its first district championship on Friday and today he was named Bison Athlete of the Week. Richardson scored 39 points and pulled down 50 rebounds in the Bison’s 55-52 win over Gilmour in the District title game.

Junior Ryan Harris became Beachwood’s 16th individual state champion at last weekend’s 76th Annual OHSAA State Wrestling Championships. For his efforts, Harris was named Beachwood Bison Athlete of the Week.

Senior Terrina Robinson scored a team-high 12 points in leading Beachwood to a 37-35 victory over Cuyahoga Heights and the school’s first ever district championship game. For her efforts she was named Bison Athlete of the Week.

Beachwood senior Alex Angersola went 3-0 with three pins at last weekend’s Division III sectional wrestling tournament at Beachwood. Angersola’s performance earned him Beachwood Bison Athlete of the Week honors.

Senior Lindsey Guth and freshman Bagatur Askaryan both qualified for the Division II District Swim meet with strong performances at last weekend’s sectional meet at Hawken. Their efforts were rewarded with Bison Athlete of the Week honors.

Senior basketball player Terrina Robinson has gone full circle in her career at Beachwood. Once, she was one of the youngest players on the roster and now she’s the only senior on the state-ranked Bison squad. Her efforts have earned her the Bison Athlete of the Week award.

Eighth grade wrestler Josh Bialosky won the 160-pound weight class at last week’s Chagrin Valley Conference tournament at Beachwood. For his efforts, Bialosky was named Bison Athlete of the Week.

Beachwood swimmers Kevin Yu and Sanford Hong have been named Beachwood Bison Athletes of the Week. Yu and Hong went 4-for-4 in a meet against Westlake to earn the honor.

John Davis scored 86 points in three games last week to earn Beachwood Bison Athlete of the Week honors. The junior guard averages 21.0 points per game this season.

Junior Mikah Aldridge had a big week in leading the Bison to three wins last week, scoring double digits in each contest. For her efforts, Aldridge was named the Bison Athlete of the Week.
