Gross named Sid Luckman Jewish Scholar Athlete of the Year

Beachwood junior Sammy Gross was named by the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum as the 2013 Sid Luckman Jewish Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. Gross attended the organization’s induction ceremony in New York to receive his award. Read more

Harris honored by Ohio House, Senate

Beachwood wrestling state champion Ryan Harris recently was honored by both the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate. Harris also qualified to represent the US in this summer’s Maccabiah Games in Israel. Read more

State wrestling media honors former Bison

Beachwood graduate Josh Lowe was honored this month by the State Wrestling Media, which presented him with the 2013 Media Service Award during the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Lowe, a volunteer assistant soccer coach at Beachwood, coordinates several wrestling tournaments at Beachwood and is a contributor to InterMat, a national wrestling publication. Read more

Beachwood eighth grader Josh Bialsoky won the 164-pound title at the Brecksville District Wrestling Tournament over the weekend. His championship earned him a spot in the Junior High State Wrestling Championships, which will be held next month in Youngstown. Full Story

Gross, Harris win CVC championships

Beachwood wrestlers Sammy Gross and Ryan Harris are Chagrin Valley Conference champions. Both won individual titles in Saturday’s league tournament at Kenston to lead the Bison to a third place finish.
